Have I missed enough "linked"s? I've been busy and preoccupied and I'm trying to get back on track. :)
Memories. . . . so many great ones. It's hard to pick just one. I decided to go with one from my childhood. I might have to blog again to share some other great memories. :)
My cousin Jenn (the one I visit in Chicago) and I used to spend the summer at our grandma's house. So many great memories -- playing restaurant in the basement, "skating" on fabric scraps, the swimming pool, foot long hot dogs at the drive in, Little House on the Prairie skits, forts, fireworks in the alley, plucking chickens (yep, you read that right), going to the store for pickles, and sliding down grandma's stairs.
Those are some of the best memories from my childhood. The best memories I have are just from hanging out with the people I love. ♥
Check out these ladies and see what they have to say about their memories: Stacey, Heather, Jenn, Jessica, Kristin, Janet, Amanda, Tracy, Rhonda, Lena, Heather, Heidi, Liza, Jean, Kristi, and Hanne
Heck yes to plucking chickens and gutting them! I have done that, too! And helping my mom kill 'em. I have yet to master killing one... Still curious.
ReplyDeleteLove the same outfits. :)
We used to do that too... totally one of my strong childhood memories is chasing the chickens and hitting them with sticks after my dad cut off their heads.... the blood squirting out.... my parents yelling at us not to hit them... and totally doing it with my brothers :) HA!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I used to skate around the floor on fabric scraps too! I couldn't get enough pickles as a kid, ironically my seven-year-old hates pickles - who's kid is he, anyway!?
ReplyDeleteI feel left out, I never got to spend time on a farm or have anything to do with chickens ( although I've heard many stories), maybe that's why I'd love to have a hobby farm now.
ReplyDeleteWe built many forts though and played outside, and used our imaginations. My friend had an old Model T Ford sitting in her backyard, and man did we have fun coming up with different adventures.
Once you start thinking of your childhood, the gates open up and all sorts of memories come flooding out.
I'm glad you still get together with her, and I bet you stay up most of the night talking.
I love those memories! Funny how I share many of them (except for the plucking chickens part).
