Monday is almost over so I guess I could have done Tuesday randomness.
-- I have totally been absent from here because I feel like I've been in a winter type depression. Also, I think I have some sort of virus on my computer and blogger does not work as it once did / should.
-- I love my kids but after this long weekend with them I'm ready to ship James off to military school. He was so naughty every time we left the house to do something. Aaaaaghhhh!
-- I can't believe James turns 5 in less than a month. I'm going to have two kids in school. Commence crying. Wait. I think I can wait until pre-k graduation to start the crying. With his behavior though I might be cheering. I kid. Maybe.
-- I got my mom to start watching Friends and she is loving it. Can you believe that since 1994 when the series started, she had never seen an episode? Could she BE any more behind the times? :) Glad that she is sharing in something that I love / loved so much.
-- My sister started a new blog. You can find her here. She talks about doing some DIY projects, the life of moving all the time, her dogs, and living with no furniture for the past month. Exciting stuff. :)
-- I have an obsession with avocados. I never really liked them until about 2 or 3 years ago and now I have started eating one almost daily. Must. stop. (or at least slow down)
-- Thinking about heading to the Black Hills / Mount Rushmore this summer. Just a few days. My dad lives about halfway between here and there so we would stop at his place for the night and then drag him along with us. I've never been yet both my parents are from SD and I used to spend large chunks of my summer in the state.
-- I'm looking for new books to read so if anyone has any suggestions please offer them.
-- I got my first pair of crocs and I'm ashamed to say that I love them. I did not get the traditional looking ones but rather a ballerina type flat. They are perfect for work because I can slop stuff on them when I'm in the kitchen, they are closed toed, and they are super comfy.
That's the randomness for this evening. I hope you all have a nice, short week. :)

Saturday night randomness
Some random things have been floating around in my head so I thought I'd share (along with some random pics). Why not? It's Saturday night and I'm crazy like that. :)
1. At what point will my children stop interrupting my shower? James barged in the bathroom no less than three times today for nothing important. Unless you think finding out what "St." means is so important it can't wait for 3 minutes. At least I've trained him to shut the door when he leaves again.
2. I am obsessed with popcorn. I have made and eaten it at least 3 times this week. It is my favorite snack. Some of my staff got me a cool popcorn popper for Christmas. I finally got stuff cleaned up today and took it out. Exciting!
3. We are currently watching "The Great Muppet Caper." I'm trying to introduce my children to the classics. :) Really though, I was cleaning and came across the movie which I had bought months ago with the intention of putting it in one of my children's stockings. I forgot. oops.
4. I really love this song. It was on Grey's a long time ago but I was just thinking about it again the other day and keep listening to it.
5. Like mother, like son -- James starts rambling about Groundhog day and how it's February 2nd and that is today and how he wonders if the groundhog saw his shadow then says how he's getting ready for his bath so he can watch the movie and then (without skipping a beat) asks me where eye boogers come from? He's a talker like his mama. He obviously has all sorts of different things to say so he rambles . . . .much like someone else I know. :)
6. I saw this on Ellen and I laughed. A lot. That second to last guy -- the McDonald's one that keeps opening the window had me lol-ing. On a side note -- I love Ellen. I record her every day -- she makes me happy.
7. I watched 3 seasons of White Collar in 2 and half weeks. Now I'm sad that it's currently halfway through the 4th season on TV and I can't watch it because I want to watch the season in order. Any recommendations on what series to get hooked on next?
8. My kids lost the remote to the TV. They took the one from my room when they were watching TV in the living room so they could fight with them. Seriously? When did everything in my house become a potential weapon?
9. I often comment on how I don't feel like a grown up. I still feel like I'm in my early twenties. How did I get to 36? I am reminded of my age when my body aches and creaks like it never used to and when I'm doing my hair and see the ever growing population of gray ones in there. What really hit me about growing older though was something I saw this week. This:
10. I'm ready for warmer weather. I want more clothes to fit in the washer (smaller clothes in the summer help with that), I want better gas mileage, and I want to go outside without a coat. The end.

| This picture is not cute. This is how we roll on the weekends though. Hanging around the house, doing silly stuff. |

A Little Wednesday Randomness
So it's Wednesday, I haven't blogged in awhile, and I'm in a random kind of mood.
A random picture:
They boys goofing off with their cousins after Christmas. They talk about Noah and Eli constantly. Noah's on the bottom left and Eli is on the bottom right. Random dude in the middle. Alright, so it's not a random dude, it's Noah and Eli's friend. They had so much fun that day.
We played Mario Kart last night and I seemed to have lost my Mario Kart skills. I know it shouldn't matter, but it makes me a little sad.
My mom is on vacation and I miss calling her.
I eat peanut butter (at least a small amount) almost daily. Could I find something a little healthier to obsess about?
Winter showed up today. I'm not enjoying it. Brrrrr. (I'm the mom that sent her kid to school today without any gloves because I was working on autopilot this morning and when he handed them to me I stuck them in his brother's coat.) Felt like a terrible parent. My feet are cold.
I told you this was random.
Crying at American Idol right now. When they make it to Hollywood I feel so proud of them and it chokes me up. Why must I be so emotional?
Joseph pulled the tongue out of his gym shoes this week. The cheap ones from Target. The only ones he will wear right now. The cute converse leather ones aren't good enough, the gray ones and the navy ones hurt his feet . . . aggghh. I had to go buy some ugly shoes from Target because that's what he wanted and I was not going to spend more if he is going to be so picky right now.
Why won't Joe stop eating? About a half an hour after every meal he tells me he's hungry again. The size 5 jeans that I bought him for school that were long are now high water pants.
I keep seeing previews for "The Vow" and I think I would like to go see that.
I have no plans for the weekend. Does anyone want to do anything?
I was going through pictures and found some pictures from my trip to Minnehaha with April this fall. Maybe I'll share more later but I thought this one captured my personality.
